Because the Scenery is Better is a 1989 BBC TV documentary about BBC radio drama. 33 minutes in length, the program features interviews with John Tydeman, Jane Morgan, John Moffatt and Tom Stoppard. With appearances by Shaun MacLoughlin, Glyn Dearman, Edward de Souza, Adrian Mourby, Peter Donaldson and many others.

The documentary shows rare behind-the-scenes footage of BBC radio plays being produced and recorded. They visit Pebble Mill, Broadcasting House, and several areas used in location recordings.

Because the Scenery is Better was produced and directed by Robert Clamp.
