Cadenza is a radio play by David Pownall. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 26 July 1998. The running time is 90 minutes[1][2].

Alessandro Stradella, though a musical genius, is banished by Pope Innocent XI for his notorious philandering. But it is only after he has crossed the Doge of Venice that he finds his music may be the only thing between him and a bloody end.
