John Rowe is a British actor who has worked extensively in radio drama.

Biography[]

John Rowe was born in Ross-on-Wye during the Battle of Britain and grew up in Birmingham. He read English at Oxford. After teaching for two years, he trained at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama in Edgbaston. During that time he acted in his first radio plays.

After spending several years acting in repertory, he joined the BBC Radio Drama Company. He also spent three years with the Prospect Company at the Bristol Old Vic[1].

He has acted in numerous roles in radio, film, theatre, audio books, and television. He lives in West London with his wife, director and writer Vicky Ireland, and has two children.

Radio Career[]

As a member of the Radio Drama Company, John Rowe has performed in numerous roles for many decades. Perhaps his most famous is the role of Jim Lloyd on The Archers.

Recently featured in Sea Change by John Fletcher, in the role of Neville Chamberlain.
