Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead is a play by Tom Stoppard, adapted for radio by Gordon House. It was first broadcast on the BBC World Service on 17 October 1983.

Other radio versions were produced in 1978 and 2007

Two marginal characters from Hamlet and what they do "offstage" Shakespeare's plot. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern inhabit a Beckett-like world beyond their comprehension, and they set out on a journey unsure of where they are going or who they themselves are.
