The Captured Enemy is a radio play by Edward Marriott. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 15 June 2006, as an installment of the Afternoon Play[1].

Plot[]

Based on the actual diaries of American freedom fighters in British jails during the US War of Independence. It's the story of Thomas Will and his son Caleb who leave their family and farm in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1777 to fight the British. Captured at sea, they are sentenced on charges of piracy and high treason and sent to a brutal prison in the south of England.

From here they plan a daring escape.
