The Machine is a radio play by Tony Bagley. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 16 October 1990, and won a Giles Cooper Award that same year. The running time is 60 minutes[1].


In 1602, Ned Prynne invents a machine to record sound. But the Church may accuse him of black magic.
