The Village Fête is a radio play by Peter Tinniswood. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 17 January 1987, as an installment of Saturday Night Theatre. The duration is 90 minutes[1]. It was the first appearance of Tinniswood's popular character Winston Hayballs, and the success of this play spurred several sequel series.
Plot[]
The Empson family moves from London to a ramshackle house in the country. They are transformed by village life and by their encounters with larger than life local resident, Winston Hayballs.
