Titus Groan
is a radio play by Brian Sibley, based on the novel by Mervyn Peake It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1984. The running time is 90 minutes. It won a Sony Award for Best Dramatization.


Set in the isolated and voluminous Gormenghast Castle, the story follows the birth and childhood of Titus Groan, 77th Earl and Lord of Gormenghast, in tandem with Steerpike, a ruthlessly ambitious young kitchen servant. An epic gothic fantasy populated with Dickensian grotesques.
