Valtemand & Cornelius Are Not Well At All by Alick Rowe
Directed at Pebble Mill by Shaun MacLoughlin
Occasional music by John Telfer

BBC Radio 4 - Saturday Night Theatre - 20.04.1996

A hilarious, historical, rollicking romp, inspired by Stoppard's 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead' - and in similar vein to Rowe's 'Crisp and Even Brightly', 'Odysseus On An Iceberg' and 'Operation Lightning Pegasus'.

Valtemand and Cornelius are two minor characters who first appear in Hamlet in Act One, Scene Two. King Claudius of Denmark discovers that young Fortinbras of Norway has assembled armies against Denmark. In response to this threat, Claudius sends two men, Valtemand and Cornelius, as messengers to the uncle of young Fortinbras with a letter in which he asks the older uncle to stop young Fortinbras from attempting to attack Denmark.
