Victorville by Marcy Kahan
Directed by Ned Chaillet
BBC Radio 4 - Friday Play - August 14, 1998

Victorville, California. 1940.
Herman J Mankiewicz was a notorious drunk. Orson Welles employed him to prepare the screenplay for 'Citizen Kane'. To encourage delivery Welles installed Mankiewicz and John Houseman (Welles' collaborator on the project) at the Verde Ranch in "dry" Victorville.
This play is about Welles' read through of the draft script and the film's screenplay credits.
